Recently, I was reading about fashion expert Mikki Taylor and her new book, entitled Commander in Chic: Every Woman’s Guide to Managing Her Style like a First Lady. The book is a salute to Michelle Obama’s impeccable style as well as a potential guide for women who’d like to tweak their personal style. “I love how Obama consistently wows us with newness, while remaining true to her style and what it means to be well-dressed,” Ms. Taylor recently wrote in the HuffingtonPost. “She's teaching us that you can be price conscious and look just as elegant and moneyed as if you had spent your wad.” That got me thinking about my personal “dress code,” what defines it and how I might tweak it in 2012. I’d love to hear what you’re thinking and planning for the coming year.
